Accessibility

Mask.ID is built for everyone.

Including people who navigate with a keyboard, a screen reader, magnification, or other assistive technology. Accessibility is part of what “privacy for real people” means.

Our target

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA — the widely accepted standard for content that’s perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust.

What we do

  • Semantic, keyboard-navigable markup, with a logical focus order and visible focus states.
  • Text alternatives for meaningful images and icons.
  • Color contrast checked in both light and dark themes; we never rely on color alone to convey meaning.

Where we’re still improving

Mask.ID uses several custom interface elements — our own dialogs, tooltips, and controls — in place of the browser defaults. Custom components are where accessibility gaps most often hide, so we treat them as a standing area of review, not a solved problem.
