Terms of Service
By using Mask.ID, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

1. Acceptance
By using Mask.ID, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.
2. Eligibility
You must be 18 or older to use Mask.ID. We collect no date of birth and can't verify age — using Mask.ID is your representation that you meet this requirement.
3. What Mask.ID is
A privacy-first identity and reputation platform. It is under active development and offered on a best-effort basis — features may change, and we don't guarantee uptime or uninterrupted availability.
4. Your account is your wallet
Your identity is a self-custodied PIVX wallet. You are solely responsible for your keys and BIP-39 seed and for backing them up. We never hold your keys and cannot recover your wallet, reset access, or restore a lost profile.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- scrape, crawl, or bulk-harvest the site/data, or use bots or automation to abuse it;
- reverse-engineer, probe, or interfere with security or rate limits;
- post unlawful content, harass or threaten others, or impersonate someone to defraud;
- attempt sybil attacks or manipulate the reputation system;
- use Mask.ID for any unlawful purpose.
6. Sanctions & prohibited jurisdictions
You may not use Mask.ID if you are subject to sanctions (for example, OFAC) or located in a sanctioned or embargoed jurisdiction.
Provisional — pending legal review.
7. Your content
You're responsible for what you post. You grant Mask.ID a limited license to store and display your content as needed to run the service. Content may require moderator approval before appearing. Takedown: to report infringing or unlawful content, contact us; we may remove content and, for repeat infringers, remove accounts.
Provisional — pending legal review.
8. Reputation is information, not a guarantee
Trust Index, verifications, and referrals are informational signals derived from the community and public data — not a warranty of anyone's trustworthiness, identity, or conduct. Display names and identities are self-asserted; a verified badge means a specific proof was checked, not that Mask.ID endorses the person. Do your own due diligence.
9. Fees & payments
Optional features (for example, premium usernames or the marketplace) are paid in PIVX. On-chain payments are final and non-refundable. Mask.ID has no coin or token of its own. Any taxes are your responsibility.
10. Not financial advice
Nothing on Mask.ID is financial, investment, or legal advice. PIVX is a volatile asset and its value is not guaranteed by us.
11. No warranty
Mask.ID is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranty of any kind — express, implied, or statutory — including, without limitation, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, that defects will be corrected, or that any information (including reputation signals — see §8) is accurate or reliable.
Treat the built-in wallet as a hot wallet — keep only small amounts in it — and see Why PIVX? or the PIVX community for safer long-term storage and staking.
Provisional — pending legal review.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mask.ID and its team are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages — including loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses — nor for any loss of funds or cryptocurrency, however arising, even if we have been advised of the possibility. This applies to your use of (or inability to use) the site and software, the conduct or content of any member or third party, and reliance on any reputation signal (§8).
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the service is limited to the amounts you paid Mask.ID in the twelve months before the claim arose — for most members, who pay nothing, that is nothing. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations; where the law forbids them, these apply to the fullest extent the law permits.
Provisional — pending legal review.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Mask.ID and its team from any claims, damages, liabilities, and costs (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your content, your use of the service, or your violation of these Terms or of another person’s rights. We may assume the exclusive defense of any matter subject to indemnification (at our expense), in which case you agree to cooperate; you may not settle a claim that imposes obligations on us without our consent.
Provisional — pending legal review.
14. Third-party services
Links and integrations (PIVX, Vector, external sites) are outside our control and governed by their own terms; we don't endorse them.
15. Termination & username reclaim
You can leave any time. Delete your profile in the app whenever you wish (what deletion removes is described in the Privacy Policy). And because your wallet is self-custodied (§4), no termination — yours or ours — ever touches your funds: we never hold them, so we could not keep them from you even if we wanted to.
We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms or to protect the service or its users, with notice where practicable. Sections that by their nature survive termination do so — including §7 (as needed to wind down), §§11–13, and §16. Data already delivered to a third-party site with your permission is that site’s copy and is unaffected (Privacy Policy §8).
Username reclaim — narrow, enumerated, and compensated. Very rarely, a username that was properly claimable turns out to be a problem. We may rename an account’s username only for one of these reasons: deceptive impersonation — presenting the account as a real person or organization it is not, in a way meant to mislead (sharing a name, or clearly labeled parody, fan, or commentary use, is not impersonation); a verified trademark complaint; use in unlawful activity; slurs or abusive terms; or confusion with a platform function (such as “support” or “admin”). If that happens:
- you get notice and a window to choose a replacement name first;
- everything else survives the rename: your reputation, referrals, Trust Index, wallet, and your permanent /i/ profile link all continue unchanged — only the display handle changes;
- a name you earned free is reclaimed without compensation. For a name you paid PIV for, Mask.ID pays the current holder everything Mask.ID itself received for that name — the original mint price and any marketplace commissions we collected on its sales (§9’s no-refund rule does not apply to a reclaim we initiate). We may instead offer a comparable premium name as credit. Market appreciation is not insured: prior member-to-member sales are final and are not unwound;
- if the name is listed or mid-sale on the marketplace, the sale is cancelled and the buyer made whole;
- you may appeal any reclaim through the contact form in the footer.
Provisional — pending legal review.

The governing law and venue will be set with the operating entity once it is formed.

17. Changes
These Terms are subject to change. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms; material changes will be noted on this page.
18. Severability
If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.

A legal contact will be published with the operating entity. Until then, use the contact form in the footer.
